Studiert habe ich 2008 an der Universität Wien Internationale Entwicklung, der damals noch ein individueller inter- und transdisziplinärer Studiengang war und postkolonialistisch globale soziale Ungleichheitsverhältnisse analytisch in den Blick nimmt. Vor meiner Promotion an der Universität Heidelberg war ich ca. 1 Jahr Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft, ebenfalls an der Universität Wien im Projekt „Broadcasting History in the Transnational Space“ der Universität Wien.
Mein Dissertation habe ich zum Thema „Migrationsstereotype und ihr Einfluss im Schullalltag“ an der Universität Heidelberg geschrieben und auch zu Themen Rassismus im Bildungssystem sowie Stereotype in den MINT-Fächern und im Gaming gelehrt. Seit etwas mehr als einem Jahr bin ich im Gleichstellungsbüro der Goethe-Universität Referentin für Diversity Policies. Hier berate ich verschiedene Zielgruppen zu den Themen geschlechtliche Vielfalt, Rassismus(kritik) gebe in diesem Rahmen Workshop zu den genannten Themen für verschiedene Zielgruppen.
Außerhalb meine Studiums und meiner Arbeit habe ich für verschiedene Vereine ehrenamtliche gearbeitet, z.B. beim Verein PROSA – Projektschule für alle, die Geflüchteten unterstützt den Pflichtschulabschluss in Österreich nachzuholen oder als Bezirkssprecherin bei Amnesty International für den Bezirk Frankfurt.
Ich habe vier Geschwister, bin davon die Jüngste und meine Eltern sind ehemals Geflüchtete aus Vietnam.
I studied International Development at the University of Vienna in 2008, which at the time was still an individual inter- and transdisciplinary degree program and takes an analytical look at global social inequalities in a postcolonialist way. Before my doctorate at the University of Heidelberg, I worked for about a year at the Institute for Journalism and Communication Studies, also at the University of Vienna in the project „Broadcasting History in the Transnational Space“ of the University of Vienna.
I wrote my dissertation on „Migration stereotypes and their influence in everyday school life“ at the University of Heidelberg and also taught on the topics of racism in the education system and stereotypes in STEM subjects and gaming. For a little over a year now, I have been working as a Diversity Policies Adviser in the Equal Opportunities Office at Goethe University. Here I advise various target groups on the topics of gender diversity, anti-racism and give workshops on these issues for various target groups.
Outside of my studies and my work, I have volunteered for various associations, e.g. the PROSA association – Project School for All, which helps refugees to catch up on compulsory schooling in Austria, or as a district spokesperson for Amnesty International for the Frankfurt district.
I have four siblings, of which I am the youngest, and my parents are former refugees from Vietnam.
